Every great journey starts somewhere, and mine begins with my mom. Growing up, I watched her transform ordinary moments into memories worth treasuring. My mother raised me with an open-door policy and always made sure that people knew they were welcome in our house. In fact, in high school I lived one mile away from my school and my mom advocated for my house to be the designated hangout spot. What started as a cluttered closet and a creative impulse became one of my favorite projects ever. I began by clearing out everything and giving the space a thorough cleaning. For the backdrop, I hung up layers of newspaper and painted hearts and other symbols to create a fun lovey feeling.
